The Double 5s of May 2025
We are now more than halfway through the 5th month of the year 2025, and halfway through the 10-year cycle 2020 to 2030. The year 2025 can be described as a ‘45/ 9 year’ (20 + 25), with 45 being halfway through a 90-year cycle. A 45/ 9 year in
numerology can represent a turning point, where a higher mind (5) can influence the existing structures (40/ 4) and encourage ‘teaching through a true understanding of the human condition’ (9). 2025 can also be viewed as 27/ 9 (20 + 2 + 5), which represents the ‘Birth of Wisdom’ where spirituality (7) may be born from sensitivity and emotion (20) to serve humanity (9). Overall, 2025 can be described as a ‘9 Year’ (2 + 0 + 2+ 5 = 9). A ‘9-year’ is different to other years, the 9 represents the end of a cycle and the accumulation of all that has been learnt in the previous 8 years. This year carries the whole story of the previous 8-year cycle and stands on the threshold of a new journey, poised between endings and beginnings, on the edge of a rebirth. Of
the years in the previous 8 year cycle, four of them fall within the 2020 decade. The 20 in numerology represents ‘the miracle of birth’, an acknowledgement that after a period of gestation, giving birth can be painful and violent, but is also an imperative stage of creation. 2020 for example can be regarded as the beginning of the birth of new world, a new world born of sensitivity and emotion after a long gestation period…. In this current year, (2025), the number 25/ 7 represents the ‘Birth in Consciousness’, as the higher mind (5) potentially influences, sensitivity and emotion (20/ 2), encouraging us to trust our inner voice and allow ourselves to be guided (7).
In amongst the sunshine and flowers of Spring, the intensity of 5 energy within May 2025 impacts us all on a global scale, as well as on a personal level. Together we are witnessing and feeling a driving intensity, so intense it can create emotional turmoil. This month can be seen as a critical point of
intense darkness and intense light. Many may feel despair in this time, but it is important to be aware that such extremes can be a tipping point or a turning point. This may become a time where we learn to collectively share the universal positive and negative experiences, emotions, and challenges, that define what it means to be human. This month
could represent a ‘wake-up call’ for us all, as we collectively come to understand the need for greater co-operation and understanding worldwide. As a result of this intense dark and intense light, we are currently witnessing a rise in popularist leaders, humanitarians and humanitarian causes.
Popularist leaders can be brilliant with communication and mass media, encouraging many to believe they are speaking
directly to them and for them. The popularist offers ‘easy to remember slogans’ and ‘sound bytes’, as well as simple, pain free solutions, to complex problems. Under the influence of the popularist, individuals who feel disenfranchised and excluded are encouraged to feel they belong and that they will be protected. They want to believe this leader can ‘fix everything for them’ without them having to make any changes on
the inside.
The humanitarian leaders on the other hand encourage introspection and inner change. Under the influence of a humanitarian, individuals are encouraged to study and become aware of the impact of their individual actions on their environment. Humanitarians encourage us to connect with ourselves and others at a deep level, taking collective responsibility for our responses and behaviours.
While both types
of leaders encourage cooperative ventures, that help others by making their ideas real, (12/ 3) the outcomes are very different
The dominance of 1 energy in the motivation of the popularist can result in a leader who is focussed on their own personal power and who needs to be seen as in charge. A leader who is organised, disciplined and focussed on action. This leader may need to lead from the front, focussed on their own goals and capable of making decisions without
emotion. While it is possible, the 19/ 10 / 1 motivation can also represent ‘the selfless leader’, who combines the qualities of the 1 and the 9, and becomes a leader who ‘takes everyone with them’. The balance of 9 and 11/ 2 in the personality of the popularist can result in a fear of failure and rejection that makes it hard for them to ask for help, whilst exuding a confidence and charisma, they may not feel inside. Also, the position of the 8 in the OSE characterises a
business-like strategist and organiser who is efficient and organised, wanting to be seen as in charge and making things happen. These individuals can be very direct in their communication, with ‘no time for sentiment’, encouraging people to believe that everything can be fixed with system, order, discipline and logic.
They do not encourage anyone to ask sceptical questions and instead want everyone to ‘leave it to them
to fix the structure’. The constant change and movement of the popularist can keep everyone focussed and distracted by outer change. Over criticising the existing structures and constantly re-evaluating or changing them can promote a ‘them and us’ attitude that can be divisive. The 48/ 12/ 3 OSE also represents the ‘bounty and crash’ which brings the potential
to rebuild according to a new plan. However, a combination of ignorance and power can be combustible and blow up in our faces, as at some point everyone must ‘get real’. The popularist has qualities that many want to see, however with so much 1 energy it is a very long journey before the 9 energy can influence the 1. As we will see below, the
humanitarian shares a very similar OSE with the popularist, but with less 1 energy. Instead of focussing on power for themselves, the humanitarian is focussed on empowering others.
The 7 in the OSE of the humanitarian characterises spirituality (7) born of new thinking (50) and embracing change. The position of the 7 in this case encourages the individual to look within and develop an inner vision of ‘how things could be’. The humanitarian may encourage individuals to seek out the truth
for themselves and to take responsibility for the impact of the choices they make. Adaptation and devotion to the cause rather than the leader is encouraged. Humanitarians give space for the individual to think and encourage a journey from the head to the heart. As we connect with our own hearts, we can more easily connect with the hearts of others and with nature. Actions can be driven by compassion and as heart-to-heart connections are forged, individuals can become empowered. Both popularist and humanitarian leaders can encourage fear. With the popularist we may feel powerless, collectively witnessing the impact of power in the hands of someone who is trying to solve all our problems with logic and discipline, which results in a lack of compassion and respect for the dignity of life.
With the humanitarian we may become more
aware of the impact of our collective actions and reactions.
Facing our fears (often being forced to!) can encourage inner change. Analysis of the word ‘Fear’ below illustrates how individually and collectively we have a choice in how we respond to facing our fears. We can each go in one of two directions:
The OSE of the word ‘fear’ has a lot of 6’s behind it, consistently encouraging us to take responsibility for the harmony we create within and the impact this may then have on society.
There are many variations on the theme of 12/ 3 energy: - The 12/ 3 represents 3 x 4 which can be interpreted as ideas and communication (3) made viable and real (4).
- The 12/ 3 can also represent creative (3) co-operative ventures, which balance masculine (1) and feminine (2) qualities.
- The 12 Tarot card also illustrates ‘stepping away from the drama' to connect with spirit and look from a different perspective’.
Ultimately 12/ 3 represents co-operative ventures that help us to be creative together. In a recent interview, Elon Musk stated: “Sooner or later machines will create art and compose music”
Then, Keanu Reeves replied: “Creativity doesn’t come from calculation, but from experience, pain, love and hope”.
History has long demonstrated the truth of this
statement, in 1945 for example, as we recovered from two World Wars, everyone decided things had to change. From this collective decision, the Welfare State was born, we saw the beginnings of the end of the class system and worldwide, and the United Nations was born. The year 1945 can be interpreted in numerology as representing ‘the correct use of
power’ as (1 + 9 + 4 + 5 = 19/ 10/ 1).
